Music Lessons [05 Sep 2008|12:49am]

wiccanpie
Hi Guys,

When I was in High School, I was a violin player. I enjoyed it much, I don't know why I ever stopped playing. Since I graduated almost 8 years ago, I haven't played my violin but a couple of times (it really is quite sad).

Lets get to the point here, I'm definately NOT trying to sell my violin. I'm looking for someone to help me pick it up again. Someone that may want to get together once or twice a month and play. I'm not by any means a talented player any longer (not like I ever thought I was). Maybe I'm looking for a mentor to help me branch out.

Is anyone willing to help me out?
Thanks!

Missing Dog [17 Aug 2008|12:49pm]

angelmoonlight
Hi, everyone.

I'm posting this on behalf of my neighbour, Walter, whose dog went missing at around 9 o'clock this morning in the Front/Sullivan area of Thorold. He's a little black & white Shitzu named "Bad Boy". We've been all over Thorold searching for him and come up with nothing. We're afraid he may have been snatched. Walter has cancer and this dog is all he's got.

If you've seen him or have any information, please call the Lincoln County Humane Society at 905-682-0767.

Thank you.

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a natural/organic food store that sells natural cosmetics and stuff, specifically shampoos and the like. I live in Fort Erie, but i'm often in St Kitts or NF too, so recommendations in any of those places would be awesome!

I've already googled all the campgrounds and have a list but thot maybe a local would give good advice. Thanks in advance.

Bookstores and margarine [24 May 2008|12:41am]

hullu_sukupuoli
Are there any bookstores that sell textbooks or mathy/sciencey type books? I'm looking specifically for Michael Spivak's Calculus (Chapters doesn't have it online or offline and Amazon will take forever for it to ship) and am willing to drive anywhere in the region in hopes of finding it.
Also, are there any places that bind books for reasonable prices? I found a place called Van Huizen but would like to know if there's anywhere else or if anyone has any experience with them.

Finally, completely unrelated but does anyone know where you can find vegan margarine (Earth Balance or Spectrum Spread preferably)? Again, I will drive anywhere in Niagara for it.

Hello fellow Niagarans. :)

I'm posting this for the interest of any local pug owners who might read this community. My fellow pug owning friend kinder182 and I are looking at planning an indoor Pugalug event for August, with the proceeds from admission (I think it'll be about 7 dollars, just to cover the hall rental and make a donation) benefiting the Pugalug rescue group. We will have dog vendors in house too.

At this point we're simply trying to get a list of people together who might be interested in attending, so if you are a pug owner and would please let me know, and if you know a pug owner please feel free to give them my email address, lakme@bust.com, and we will get in touch with them with details.

robbery [15 May 2008|08:59pm]

art_equals_love
Last night, the store I work at, Select Water Company on Thorold Rd in Welland, was broken into and the computer was stolen. My USB drive was plugged into it still, as I forgot it, with very very important files on there, including the files I make my art prints I sell with, and months and months of writing I intended to publish for my next zine (which I have to start all over from scratch now) among other things.
These files are irreplaceable, and I am devastated.

The guy was hooded, short, reported to be short, around 5'2"-5'3". The police have a surveillance tape and we're waiting to get a picture of his face.

If you have any information on who may have done this, if you have been offered to buy a computer or USB drive, if you've heard anyone talking about this - ANYTHING - please contact me at chantal.artist@gmail.com with any information. It's important that I find out who did this, regardless of getting my stuff back. You can stay anonymous if you want.

There have been other small businesses in the area which are being broken into and having their cash registers and computers stolen.
This needs to stop.

Nucomm [12 May 2008|05:16pm]

I have a telephone interview with them tomorrow.
Can anyone tell me what the hiring process is like? They mentioned coming in for "testing" and a tour of the facilities if the phone interview goes well. What kind of questions do they ask and what does this in person testing consist of? As well, should I pretend I don't plan on leaving in September to go back to school? Or do they actually hire students just for the summer? And is it really as bad as I've heard it is?
TIA

Cell phone rental. [12 Apr 2008|04:35pm]

korpsy
Is there anywhere in the area (preferably St. Kits or Niagara-on-the-Lake) where I could rent a cell phone for a month? Does anyone know the cost? I'm coming back to Canada this summer to visit and I need some kind of contact. I checked Rogers and Bell websites and they didn't have anything about it.

I was thinking maybe the Toronto airport maybe theres a booth? Any leads are helpful.
Thanks in advance.

African black soap [30 Mar 2008|06:43pm]

Another where to find... :(

Anyone know where I could find authentic (ie. not some plain soap with black dye on it) African black soap in the area? I would highly prefer fair trade as well.

TIA.
